Correct Hood Lace for 1935 Studebaker

What is the correct hood lace; there are two types?   Either one would be 3/4 inch wide  but which type, flat or channel would be more representative of original?  I've seen it both ways.  Flat hood lace thickness of 1/8 to 1/4 inch; the other is  an oval  "channel" hood lace with thickness of  3/16 to 5/16 inch, each with various widths.  It would appear the 3/6 inch channel hood lace would raise the hood too high above the cowl but mybe it will squash down in time.  Ken, Deltaville, Va

Restoration Specialties offers hood lace in various widths and thickness.  I'm guessing that flat 1/16 or 1/8 is the right thickness, perhaps 3/4 or 1 inch wide.  The 1931 grille shell I have been working with had "fingers" that stuck up to allow the lacing to weave in and out.  I think they were pinched down at the factory to hold the lacing in place.
