Guest Bill Freeman
Hello, I just purchased a 1930 Ford Model A Coupe. The brake lights are not working and one of the tail lights isn't working. I am starting with the tail light. It is reading 3 volts. Does anyone know if the tail lights are in series which is why I am getting 3 volts or should I be reading 6 volts ? I will get to the brake lights later. I have so much to learn, but am very excited about my new hobby. Thank you in advance for any assistance that can be provided. Any responses or advice will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Bill Freeman
Guest Bill Freeman
I figured it out. Turns out it was a grounding issue. I just loosened one of the tail light bracket screws, filed out the hole a little to get any rust off and tada .... oldford
To answer your question, just in case you run into more problems with lights. The lamps are all in parallel in a Model A Ford. There were some cars with lamps in series, like the early Model T head lamps, but in most cases it's parallel. Frank
