poci1957
Hello, I am working on a 1957 with power steering, the pump is shown below (mine is a Pontiac but the 1957 Olds has the same pump). Have rebuilt the pump myself twice accompanied by the service manual and a Saginaw factory repair kit the second time. No missing parts, no visible wear of any kind, perfect condition for a rebuild, yet I apparently have no pressure. What might I be missing on this seemingly very simple rebuild? The car steering is good but I have no power assist, I have installed a pressure gauge as instructed by the manual and it reads zero. Any help appreciated, thanks, Todd C
poci1957
Forget it, I figured it out, the pressure plate was installed reversed in the first rebuild many years ago.
