Worldwide
I could use some direction as to how to install 12 volt starter to my 1910 Buick. Getting harder to crank as the years go by.
trimacar
You'll have to modify your flywheel, have a surface machined on it all the way around, then install a ring gear. You'll have to do the research to find what ring gear will fit. I know of a few 1910 Model 16/17 Buicks that did this on the front side of the flywheel, then mounted a fairly new Corvette starter (they're fairly small) using the back crankcase vent as an anchor for the starter. If you have a Model 10, I'm not sure of the flywheel configuration, as it's a totally different car than the 16/17. The unfortunate thing is that you will end up cutting away original metal to do this conversion.
