Guest
A 35x5 tire is a high pressure tire with a cross section of 5". If you double the cross section you get ten, subtract this from the 35 (the outside measurement of the tire) and you have a 25" rim. If you figure the space between the felloe and the rim (approx. 1/8 inch) and the thickness of the rim you get 24 1/2 " which is the diameter of the wheel. All high pressure tires were marked outside diameter first and cross section second. When balloon (low pressure) tires came out they changed the nomenclature. So if this wheel and tire were converted to a balloon tire the size would be 500x25. gossjh
Just a little more info. The 34x4.5 is the standard size, so 4.4x2=9 from 34 also equals 25" rim size.
