Guest
I have a 1929 Stearns-Knight 7 passenger sedan that we have finally finished restoring. It's taken 11 years, And I'm trying to find someone who reproduces what I have been told are called footmen loops. The ones in my car we a twisted braided material with a large pom pom on the end. The are located to the left of the back doors on the post betwen the door and the back side window. ANyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Can anyone help me. It's the last thing that I need! Thanks HAroldw
poci1957
Harold, you might try Hampton Coach. They do mostly 1930's GM interiors but they may have something close. A longshot is Bill Hirsch or Restoration Specialty, all of which should have web sites. Good Luck, Todd

Guest
"footman loops" are C shaped metal brackets that were screwed to the door of a pre WWII car, through these a piece of leather or fabric was "looped" and then both ends were screwed to the body., thus the strap through the loop prevented the door from traveling out to far when opened and hitting the fender or springing the hinge. What you want to find are assist straps. These 'assist' you out of the rear seat as a hand hold to pull on.
