Tony M
Hi all. Tony M here. Had a little issue happen over the weekend with my 55 Super. I was parked in a lot that had a very slight incline. Car was facing the downward slope. I put the car in park, took my foot off the brake, while the engine was still running, and the car wanted to jerk forward. When I turned the engine off, the jerking stopped and the car held its position. Is this something that I should look into pretty quick ?Tony M. old-tank
Tony, it probably does not have anything to do with the engine running or not. Alway use the parking brake in addition to park on a dynaflow! (I have had my grubby little hands on those park parts and would not trust the car or my life on them holding) Be sure the engine mounts, transmission mount and thrust pad are in good shape, then follow the procedure in the shop manual to adjust the shift linkage. You can test by attempting to rock the car back and forth. If no joy, disconnect the shift rod at the transmission and with the lever in the park position, rock again. If it still jerking out of park, then the problem is internal.Willie
