Oregon Desert model 45
I recently purchased a steering wheel from e-bay to replace the broken unit on my 1925-45 Master. After comparing the new purchase with the original, I have determined the new unit is most likely from a 1926 - 1927 Master. The main difference is in how the ends of the spokes are fastened to the wooden rim, and the hub bore diameter of the 1925 unit is 1 1/8", vs 1" for the 1926 unit. The wooden rim on the 1926 wheel looks like its made from mahogany. Was mahogany the typical wood used for Buick steering wheels ? I was expecting maple or oak.here is side by side comparison of complete 1926 wheel with broken 1925 wheel. KevinBCA # 47712
ROD W
The new wheel is most likely from a standard, Nothing was interchangeable between the Master and Standard
