Frank Wilkie
I have a 1923 Dodge. I removed oil pan and when I reattached it I notice the oil indicator rod would be a problem to line up with it's hole in the block. So I used a plastic oil gauge line that was just a little bigger in diameter and pushed the steel oil indicator rod into the oil line. I had to split the oil line tube about a 1/2" or so for the rod to go in. I then super glued that connection. I fed the flex oil line tube into the hole in the block and when I raised up the pan the rod followed the tube through the hole in the block.. Worked out great. cahartley
I soldered a thin wire to the indicator rod and threaded it through the hole in the block to pull the rod through.Worked like a charm. BTW.......I hope you gooped the felt on the rear main cap so you don't wind up with a leaker........
