AK Buickman
I'd like to buy new inner tubes for my '31 Packard Standard Eight before I take the old ones out. The problem is that there are no listings from any of the major antique tire companies for this year Packard, and there are 2 different styles of the metal valve stem currently available. The inner tubes are readily available, but which style is correct for my disc wheels? The correct tires for this car are 6.50x19in.The rims on my '31 Packard are the original 19 inch steel disc wheel. One available style valve stem comes out of the inner tube straight about a half inch, then makes a 90 degree bend, and then continues out of the disc wheel. The second style valve stem makes a sharp bend right out of the inner tube, then continues straight out the disc wheel. Is there someone with a '31 Packard Standard Eight with 19 inch disc wheels that knows for sure which style inner tube these wheels call for?Thank you!Gary Klecka1931 8th Series Packard Standard Eight 7-Passenger Sedan, Model 464 on the 833 Chassis
John_Mereness
Gary,It will be a bent brass metal stem and yes you can still get them brand new on tubes for 19" tires.. I suggest you call Lucas Tire / Universal Tire and ask them for the proper part.
