ken34
Could anyone tell me what the correct color paint ( if it is painted) the Heat Riser Valve Return Spring should be painted. Mfg part # 1321615. My spring was so rusty I could not tell what the finish was.Thank youKen 34 50 series
Mark Shaw
Ken, Just a guess, but probably just chassis black which burnt off shortly after the car was sold. I don't think they used heat resistant paint in 1934. That's probably why it was so rusty.
Guest buickkuhn
Looks to be plain ,that also explains the rust . you can look at this oem part on ebay . http://www.ebay.com/itm/1933-1953-Buick-NOS-exhaust-manifold-heat-riser-valve-spring-1321615-/381048263222?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item58b83f1236
Grandpa
Ken,In the attached 1941 factory photos, it can be seen that Buick painted the engine with the manifolds installed. Also, note that the exhaust system is painted chassis black.Grandpa
