Guest fkaugusta
I just got back from visiting a friend who is helping finish the restoration of a 27' Buick Sedan. I was so impressed with the paint job and especially the color, I'm considering it for my 30' Coupe. The car was painted by another shop a few years back and my friend has no idea what color it is or if it's even a Buick color! He just says it's "teal". To me, Teal is a much lighter green. Just wondering if anyone can tell me the name of this green "teal" and if the formula is available?? Thanks in advance. Frank
Mark Shaw
Frank, The closest color match I found in my Leon Finch LTD color chip book is Calvert Blue for 1946-1948 Buicks.
Guest fkaugusta
Thanks Mark, I agree. It's very close but appears to need a "pinch" more green. Thanks for your research. I also found a Calvert Blue chip. Looks very close! Thanks again! Frank
pacrat
some auto paint stores have a camera that will do a computer color search
Guest fkaugusta
Thanks pacrat for the suggestion. I'm aware of this technology but I'm told they need a rather large sample to do the scan. Since the car I saw is miles away that might be a problem. I might consider that option but I think I can work with similar chips to come up with an acceptable color. Thanks again!
