dl456
I was at the Zanesville, Ohio auction last weekend. Late Saturdaythey sold some loose engines on skids. It was nothing that I neededso I took a break from the sale. I later was told that the engines had been sold to a scrap metal dealer. Long story short, I was able to make contact with him and he agreed to sell the engines for $100 ea.I did not look at the engines because I initially had no interest but it would be shame to see them scrapped. The dodge brothers was a 4 cyl. with transmission and accessories if I recall. Anybody that was there know any more? The Pontiac was a split head six with no accessories ( starter, gen etc.)This engine had been disassembled but appeared to be in good condition.I'm just throwing this out to see if anyone needs these. I may be able to make arrangements to pick them up or would happily share contact info. via PM.Dennis
dl456
I couldn't help myself. We made another trip over and picked up the enginesas they would have been scrapped this week,For those that have asked about the Dodge Bros., the engine number is 779947. Any thoughts what year this may be?Thanks,Dennis
Dennis
From page that I have from the 9th edition of the Master Parts Price List under miscellaneous data it says that the engine number is approximately 50,000 higher than the car number. Just going by that the sheet list production data from 1915 through 1927 I would guess 1922 between May 17th and June 9th. Hope this helps give you an idea what years to look at, good luck.
