Cowl spacer?

I did an inventory of my parts today as I reviewed the steps of putting the front end back together. I have a spacer for the cowl, I have it identified in pics and verified marks on the bottom side of the cowl where it came from. The only question is....Why do I only have one? There is no second one, no marks of a second one ever exsisting. Is one enough? The body book doesnt even mention it.

Chris,

Here is the link to a post I started a while ago. Towards the end of the post I have a good pic of the spacer you have in question (although mine is all shriveled up & looks nothing like yours…proof Cali heat may be hotter than Vegas heat lol). I don't think it's a spacer it's more of a barrier to help keep leaves & stuff from falling into that hole u can see under the fender right next to that block (spacer). I'm getting old but I thought someone had answered that question for me in that post but it looks like the post just died lol.

I don't have a clear pic of the cowl installed to help u with your alignment issue. But I hope this one will help. Now that this post was ttp, maybe someone has a better pic to post for us cuz I will be facing this step soon too.
