edselsouth1
Can anyone post a pic of the fuse/junction block for a 1960 Ford full size car, or list the fuse locations in the junction block? The headlight switch attaches to the junction block. See attached pic of my junction block. As you can see, it needs some repairs (wiring is soldered to a couple of the fuse holders, and the print on the block is almost non-existent. Thanks, David. Rusty_OToole
Offhand the only place to find this information would be the owner's manual. You could try putting the fuses in one at a time and see what works.I think I know what you are driving at, on an old car who knows if you have the right size fuses in the right places? Guest Commodore
Here is the page from the owner's manual. You can see the whole manual by clicking on Home. And for God sake clean all the rust and corrosion off those fuses holders. It can cause a bad failure. I know, my Hudson has a headlight relay with a fuse. There was corrosion on fuses holder and one night the fuse connection got so hot it melted the fuse element and headlights went out. No fun.http://www.oldcarmanualproject.com/manuals/Ford/1960/pages/60%20ford_page%2062_jpg.htmAnd the wiring diagram. http://www.oldcarmanualproject.com/tOCMP/wiring/5765wiring%20diagrams/fordindex.htm
edselsouth1
Rusty_OToole, Commodore...............Thanks for your replies.I have done some repair/refurbishment of the existing fuse block/junction box, and hope it will suffice to get the wiring completely checked out. Hopefully the spring tension on the fuse holder is still present, and the repairs will be OK. If not, I'll likely be asking for a fuse panel/junction block. Thanks, David.
