studeboy
I need the autolite part number for a condenser in my 1940 studebaker commander. It has an Autolite IGW distributor, the studebaker part number is 175967. The same condenser was used from the early 30's until 1941 in 6 cylinder cars and after that in M series trucks. I just want a part number I can cross reference to my local auto parts store rather than mail order a $1 part when I need it today.

Owen_Dyneto
The range of capacitance for ignition condensers is fairly narrow and within reason a condenser doesn't much care if the engine is 4, 6, 8 12 or even 16 cylinders and what the polarity is. I use NAPA/Echlin AL-869 as practically a "universal" condenser with good results.
