Who does door handle restoration for 1920s cars?

This material is laid over the steel door handle base, which has rusted very badly, breaking off the black plastic material.

Is this Bakelite?

The handles need to be thoroughly cleaned and bead blasted, then covered with the black plastic material, then polished. The ends will need nickel plating.

Will anyone be at Hershey who does this?

Does anyone have a source for grey, ribbed linoleum for running boards?

I would bead blast and get the part that needs nickel plating plated and then use a resin with black dye. Good place to get the resin is Micromark. You should be able to sand and polish to a proper sheen with this kind of material. Therre are quite a few door handles from the twenties that had this type of plastic finish.

Another source for resins/tints for the hobby is Smooth-On plastics, Easton, PA. I don't know about ribbed linoleum, but flat linoleum in various colors is available from Lauria in West Chester, PA.
