Guest ernest
My Reatta is still idling rough while in gear. I was advised to clean the IAC sensor, it was a good tip, thanks, but it did not help. I installed a new IAC sensor from the Reatta Store. It still idles rough while in gear. It idles smooth while in neutral or park. I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks, Craig
Guest Mc_Reatta
Pull trouble codes out of diagnostics and see what they might say. How does car drive under light/heavy acceleration? How about under heavy load like going uphill? Can be many things but I'm thinking a misfire. Wouldn't hurt to clean the MAF and check the TPS adjustment too first. Check troubleshooting and repair info on Ronnie's site for instructions for these.
padgett
Does the power seem normal when accellerating ? What plugs are in it ? How old and where gapped ?
sosuzguy
You could have a bad injector(s) or they could be leaking or not all balanced.
Guest 89 Maui
Sounds more like a vacuum leak, check all of your vacuum hoses for any cracks or splits.
padgett
A Vaccuum leak will usually raise the idle and lower the IAC commend, rough sounds more like the plug is not firing properly (secondary ignition will not set a code) or possibly the injector is leaking (plug may look darker around the electrodes than others. sosuzguy
It could be a little bit of everything said above making one bad driveability problem
