Guest vacabill
Would it be overkill to put dynamat or like material over all the exposed metal on the panels before upholsterying?
F&J
Cars used a tar based cardboard to cut down on noise. Fiber mats were used on firewall for heat. When using a sound product, the entire panel does not need to be 100% covered, but I do it anyways. There is a product at Home Depot that is aluminum foil backed, self stick, 12"?..I think... wide rolls, and is tar based. Some claim they can smell it on hot days in hot climates. I have not. I think it is for gutter repairs, ask that when you look there. If you use it, clean the old metal, and make sure the metal is not too cool. I preheat the panels, and it has not come loose. D Yaros
Overkill? I say no. I also say, so what if it is, given the application, no one is going to see it, right?
