Beltfed
I have the gauge cluster out off the dash looking for problems. The ammeter is somewhat odd as it just has a clip holding the large gauge generator wire. Is this an inductive type meter? If not, or better yet, how does it work? Thanks.
C. Douglas Johnson Jr.
It sense current and direction passing through the loop. When rewiring you need to insure proper direction of the wire through the loop or it will read backwards.
Beltfed
Very neat indeed. I had no idea that a inductive type of gauge would/could be used this early. I will check the calibration of this meter as I will check all. A meter that doesn't read correctly is of no use to me. Instrumentation and engineering were my bag before I retired. This is a really neat car, but the component design of some of the systems are head-scratchers.
