HELP!!! '73 Riv Rear Quarter Window Headache

I am at wits end, trying to get my rear quarter window to mate up properly. Just

could not get it to adjust properly. So thinking something was out of whack with

what I had, I purchased a different regulator. That was not the answer. The

quarter window I had would just not slide freely etc.. I discovered that someone

else had been into the window and had replaced the plastic pieces with some

metal wheels. It took me a while to figure that out. So I went again to find a

metal base unit to put on my window that had the correct plastic and swivel

bottom plastic. Got it all back together and I find that the top of the window

needs to move forward towards the door about 1/2 inch. I can see no way to

adjust this.

Can anyone give me any help at all? The only possible thing I can think of now

would be if perhaps there is some minimal adjustment between the glass and the

metal base. The plastic mounting pieces had inserts which entered into the glass

holes and prevented hardly any movement between the glass and the metal base

piece. But I am wondering if there might be enough to throw out the window

adjustment out that much. And if so, I am wondering why Bucik did so to mess you up.

If this is the only adjustment and it doesn't work I will have to take

everything out again and put back in which is no easy task for naught. I have

worked all afternoon on this and have gotten nowhere. Very frustrated. The door

window adjustment is fine across the top etc.. Thus the problem is with the

quarter window. WHAT TO DO??? Need your help badly!

first off do you have a body manual.im just finishing mine on 63-would hate to think how many hours i have in them-taking out-cleaning tracks-motors-reinstalling-adjusting-still adjusting.the 63 has scews with flat washer bolts that move the window for and aft and in and out-if yours has these loosen all and try pulling window forward by hand with window 3/4 way up.i hope someone else chimes in on this because im still fighting fine adjustment.hope this helps.t.nugent roa 12969.
