Guest Steeleco
I purchased a fuel pump from Cars inc and wonder if anyone can answer this. To replace the fuel pump on a 63 riv with AC, do you have to remove the AC/alternator Bracket to get the pump out. Thanks much for all the help!Steele
Jim Cannon
I did not. You get to it from under the car.
1965rivgs
It will make the job much easier if the fuel pump drive eccentric is not in a position in which it is putting pressure on the pump arm. You will be able to tell what position the eccentric is in when you are removing the old pump. If it is putting pressure on the old pump as you loosen the fasteners rotate the engine until the old pump is loose. This will reduce your aggravation level when installing the new pump and reduce the chance you may cross thread one of the bolts.
