Guest RonJar
Hi, my 38 Century with the 320 has the crankcase breather tube coming off a "box" which seems to be fastened to the side tappet cover with a single bolt.If I remove that single bolt, should that "box" come off the tappet cover with a bit of persuasion?I don't have excessive blow-by, but what I do have seems to be mostly coming out of the vent on the back of the valve cover rather than out the draft tube, especially at the idle. I'm wondering if the draft tube "box" is plugged up with carbon and garbage. The tube itself seems clear. Older Chev's used to have that problem. Thanks, RonJ
Ben Bruce aka First Born
Ron, that "box" is part of the side cover and does not come off. It could be plugged up. I would remove the cover and take a look. Good luck. Ben
Guest RonJar
Will the side cover come off with the distributor in or does the distributor have to come out?Not having timing marks on the fly wheel, I'd just as soon leave it in if possible.RonJ
Ben Bruce aka First Born
Ron, it will come off. Takes a little wiggling. Easier with dist. removed, but not necessary. Remove the dist.cap and plug wires. Ben
