Foxlovescars
Hi guys:Is it possible to remove the clam shells from within the fender body without having to remove the top bumper? I took out the five hex bolts holding the bracket and unhooked the spring. The whole assembly is now loose, but I can't seem to find the right angle to pull it forward to clear both sides of the fender. I am working with the shells open, as they seem to take up less space in that position.Frank"I don't suppose you would remember me, but I used to follow you back in '63." rivgs
Did you remove the chrome trim around the clam shells? The piece that screws into the fender. That gives you a wider opening to remove them.
Foxlovescars
Kevin:Yes I did. That was the first piece I took off to clean and repaint. I still can't work an angle to get the clam shell out. What's the trick?Frank
rivgs
Frank, Anytime I had removed them, the bumper was off. You may not have a choice on this.
