Model of ModelAA truck chassis

I wamted to share a project that I had been working on for many years. I decided to build a 1/16 scale model of a Model AA Ford truck. I started with a Minicraft 1/16 scale kit but there wasn't a lot I could use. The engine is from the kit as well as the front axle but everything else is scratch built. Each frame rail is 3 pieces of plastic sheet glued together. All crossmemnbers are fabricated from plastic stock. The backing plates are made from the wheel inners from an old Hubley Packard kit. The rear differential is machined from a solid piece of styrene with the reinforcing and bolt detail added. The torque tube and axle housings are plasic tubing. The wheel rims were machined from solid styrene with scratch built centers. The wheel bolts are real brass screws and hex nuts. The hex hub caps are cut from steel hex wrenches. The exhaust pipe is aluminum tubing. The front wheels steer and the drag link operates with the steering. The tire were purchased from Thomas Toys years ago and actually have the Firestone logo on them. All springs,hangers ,brake levers and rods are scratch built. I started this project 20 yrs. ago and you can see that I haven't made much progress. Someday I plan on building the cab and body but I hate the idea of covering up the chassis detail. I know it's not as good or as detailed Roger Zimmermans models (A modeler I greatly respect)but I thought some of you AA guys might enjoy it. Jim
