Guest Bilbo Posted April 14, 2012 Share Posted April 14, 2012 (edited) My '36 business coupe doors have a gap at the rear upper corner. All the shimming at the hinges will not help. If it fits nicely at the front of the door, it sags at the rear. In order to get the door in a position to close, the gap at the rear is wider at the top and almost touches the rear of the door opening at the bottom. Then there's the gap in the top rear corner. The door and the opening seem to be of different dimensions/shape in the corner. How can I fix this? I took the door off the hinges and propped it in the door opening so that the rear of the door fit like it should. The front of the door at the vent window did not fit in the opening. Almost like the A pillar had been moved to the rear about 3/8". I guess I could shave that portion of the door, but that presents another can of worms.
