Guest l.keller
I am looking for someone who can tell me where the VIN is located on a 1931 buick. I need to get a title for it and don't know where the number is located on the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

jscheib
The VIN number used in many states is the chassis number, which should be on a tag found on the frame inside the passenger front fender and should be seen without taking the wheel off. some states have also used the engine number, so if the engine was swapped, there may be a problem. If not founf there, let us know and there may be some more help. You did not indicate which state, so if you want to incklude that, you might find some local help. Also, welcome to the forum and consider joining the BCA. I see you first joined the forum in 2010, but this is the first post. Questions are always welcome as you get this car on the road.John
Guest l.keller
Thanks John .That is very helpful. I am going to pick up the car on Saturday in Huntingdon Pa. We think it might have a Pa. title but all the former owners are deceased and the executors cannot find a title.
Guest l.keller
Bad news. I was in Altoona on Saturday to get the VIN off of this car and to my dismay it was gone. I found exactly where it was , on the frame rail on the right side below the fender but only the two small rivet holes remain. So unless someone knows another way to get a title I am selling this coupe out as a parts car. Its a shame because the body is virtualy free of any rust outs. If anyone is interested you can contact me by email at lakshortline@verizon.net or my cell phone no. is 570-419-8162
