Juha Paavo Kaita
Enclosed is a photo of 4D Sedan from 1924/25 which was rebuilt into pickup. After WW II there was a great need for commercial vehicles so passerger cars were turned pickups. I hope to hear your opinion about the year of make and model. What kind of body styles were available during these years? This Maxwell was in use in a small village called Yläne here in Finland. The photo is taken sometimes in 50´s.Best wishesJuha KaitanenTurku, Finland
keiser31
Interesting that the fenders and headlamps look to be 1926 Chrysler, the radiator resembles a 1925 Maxwell passenger car, but the body and hood look sort of like a 1931 Dodge truck. Juha Paavo Kaita
It can well be so that parts were taken from different makes of cars to keep the pickup running. Local blacksmiths and car mechanics were very clever at this. Thank you for your great remarks. I have to ask the man who used to own the Maxwell in the 50´s if he know something more about the history of the vehicle.Juha KaitanenTurku, Finland
