Guest GSNH
My family is looking for the whereabouts of some of my grandfather's cars, one of which was a 1931 Sixteen Model 141 Two-Passenger Coupé.That is the description given in the caption on page 123 of Automobile Quarterly, Vol. 7, #2 so it might, technically, be a Sports Coupé.Based on research I have done, there are only 6 left.My grandfather, Dr. Ivor David Harris, purchased it in the early 60's from an airline pilot who lived in Kansas City who in turn had purchased it from the original owner, a clergyman. My grandfather sold it in 1975-76? To whom, we are not sure. When my grandfather owned it he painted the body silver and had the exterior of the roof covered in black leather. My grandfather lived in Grosse Point Michigan while he owned the car and until his death 2-3 years after he sold it.We do not have any identifying numbers but are searching.Any assistance is greatly appreciated.David
Guest GreenSixteen
David: I am pretty certain I know some of the recent history of your grandfather's car, but would rather not spell it out in detail here in the forum. Please contact me directly at gcbradley@me.com.
