65 Riviera Resto Parts Questions

Hi all,

My 65 Riv resto is coming along nicely with paint on now and it should be back to me in a couple of weeks. Click here to see the progress shots

1) I'm restoring the door panels and need to source the correct Window Felt Set. Classic Buick seems to be the only place that specifies them for 63-65 Rivs. Has anyone recently purchased same from somewhere else that are correct before I place the order? I'm reluctant because their freight rates to Australia are usually high.

2) I've had bumpers and garnish molds rechromed nicely but the tail light bezels did not work well. There are specialist chromers here that will do a good job but I think the price will be about the same as the new ones advertised on oldbuickparts.com Does anyone else have any experience with the quality of these $347 sets before I bite the bullet?

I bought the first set of tail light bezels that Cars put out ...Very Nice ! The chrome shops wanted 250.00 $ a piece to rechrome the originals and they said because of the nature of pot metal , the pitting will eventually come back. So I was really happy Cars came out with these beautiful reproductions ! As far as window fuzzies...I would like the same information you are asking as its getting close on my list as my car goes back together.

No personal experience yet, but I hear Rubber the Right Way is one of the best sources for anything rubber related on the first gen Riv.

Thanks guys. I have bought from Rubber the Right Way before and agree they are great to deal with. They even allowed me to ship other parts I'd bought to them and added them to the parcel to save me freight costs to Australia.

Not many places are capable or willing to handle anything out of the ordinary like that.

I've just ordered the fuzzies from RTRW even though the eBay kit is good value my outer ones are in good condition and I like the way the originals have that little kink in the polished strip on top, to go around the 1/4 vent window.
