Pat_n_Pat
Hi All:I am looking for a Model T shop tool reference. I can find sources for tools that came with the car, but not shop tools. We have several Ford Script socket speed wrenches, but no way to identify their specific use (if there even was one). For Example we have a Ford Script speed/spinner wrench 5-Z-1178. I assume it starts with a 5, although it looks like it could be a 3 or 8. I know a lot of Model T shop tools used 5-Z-XX as a numbering system.any help would be greatly appreciated!Pat
TheMoneyPit
Bruce McCauley's book "Model T the car that changed the world" has a pretty good listing of the tools including the "Z" tools. There were 3Z tools and 5Z tools and I think there are 18 and 21 as well.
