Guest pyrodork
the battery box on my p4 is missing and i want to put the battery back there under the seat. i don't know what the box itself is supposed to look like, and i think there's supposed to be a cover for it, too. if anyone has any detailed pictures, that'd be great.i'm starting to work on some major stuff, so i might be asking a lot of questions soon... until it gets too cold to work out there. thanks! keiser31
Here is a partial view of a 1936 Dodge Brothers battery box which should be about the same as a 1937 Plymouth box, I believe.
Guest pyrodork
thanks!what about the underside? i've seen some solid boxes and some with only 2 sides. wouldn't the 2 sided one be a bit dangerous? and i assume the cover is big enough to put the battery in... just with an access panel for the fluid, right? keiser31
I believe it should look something like this...please excuse the very generic sketch. Edited September 3, 2011 by keiser31 (see edit history)
Guest pyrodork
nice! i appreciate that! it does help.but the part under the car... i've seen reference to a 2-sided box and a 4-sided box. i found a 2-sided box, but i don't know if it's correct... and it concerns me to have two sides of the battery exposed under the car. there's one place i found that sells aftermarket 4-sided boxes, but they want something like $400 for it. Guest Fr Mike
The battery box in my P2 looks a lot like your drawing, Keiser31.
keiser31
The one under my '31 DB has open sides. I don't like it because it is so exposed. I know...apples to oranges...
