Guest joeyq80
Hi, Can anyone tell me the procedure for replacing the instrument panel light bulbs on a '65 Riviera? The shop manual just says: "To replace an instrument cluster bulb, remove the socket and bulb assembly from the instrument cluster by rotating counter-clockwise. Replace the bulb and re install the assembly by rotating it clockwise." Do I need to remove the instrument cluster from the car to be able to do this? Thanks, Joe
Bleach
I knew the clock itself could be removed by rotating the unit counter-clockwise. It's spring loaded. I never needed to remove either one of the clusters.
1965rivgs
Should be able to reach up thru the lower dash access hole and fuse panel area to reach the sockets which twist out. This requires some dexterity and determination.Another option is to remove the upper dash pad which will enable you to see what you are doing.Brighter replacement bulbs (more cp) are available but I find new bulbs seem to brighten things up to an acceptable level.
