caf
I just had an aluminum waterpump repaired and the shop recommended I seal the inside with POR 15. Has anyone had experiance with this? They seemed to think it would take care of any pinholes and also slow down corrosion. Does this stuff adhere to aluminum? And where is it availiable? Thanks
Rusty_OToole
Corrosion is not the problem it used to be. I first noticed 2O years ago that you could take the water pump off an old engine and it was perfectly clean inside with no corrosion. The antifreeze is a lot better than what we used to get. Larry Schramm
For aluminum wheel porosity I used to use either 2 part epoxy or JB weld.
Guest Al Brass
I frequently use fuel tank sealer for such areas and I use it on carby and fuel filter bowls too. It copes well with coolant and there are no issues.RegardsAl
