vergil
I will be installing new running board linoleum ('16) and am wondering what adhesive to use. The original was glued down but long since dried out. Since these are not rubber, I'm guessing just about any type can be used.Bill
trimacar
Contact cement. Coat both metal and linoleum, let dry very well before applying material to board. If you rush it you can get a bubble with the adhesive still "gassing off".
vergil
Thanks for this advice. There is no metal, so the burlap backed linoleum goes onto the wood board. The residue from the original sure looks like it could have been contact cement.
trimacar
contact cement will work on wood, you may have to do a coat on the wood, let it soak in, then put a coat on the wood and linoleum at the same time, then proceed. Good luck! I sure enjoyed my DB's, had a '25 coupe in the 60's and a '24 touring in the 70's, along the way bought and sold a '20 touring and a '23 sedan...good, dependable cars....
