D-a-n-i-e-l
So I spent my afternoon making these bushings. I just want to know if anyone has a source for new bushings for the rear sway bar, the ones that connect to the rear struts.
Guest Mike_s
I think the GM part # for those is 1627769, but I can't find a supplier. What did you make your's out of?
D-a-n-i-e-l
I used energy suspention sway bar linkage bushings. Drilled the centers out to .5 inch (put the bushing in a 26mm socket to hold it in place) Then use a bench grinder to etch out the nipples to mach the sway bar hole and ground down to proper length. Guest Mike_s
Thanks, btw sorry to hear about the tranny.
D-a-n-i-e-l
No issue, it ended up costing $70 to fix, and did not have to pull the tranny. One other note it takes two bushings per side. That is my worry about the fix. I have put 150 miles on them and still in place I will keep an eye on them and if they give out or let the swaybar drop to the bolt I will post on here. padgett
errr, why would you need to pull the transmission to replace the rear sway bar busings ?
D-a-n-i-e-l
It was referring to my diferential issue last weekend, not the swaybar
