mrcvs
I am interested in one for a 1917 Maxwell, if anyone has one for sale. Thanks!
hddennis
What cap do you need? I haven't been able to positively determine what was used in 1917. I've seen the M in a circle and also the Maxwell shield in silhouette. What is the outside diameter of your radiator neck? There also seems to be multiple radiator necks which I have been unable to breakdown into years used.Howard Dennis
mrcvs
The outside diameter of the opening is 1 and 5/8 inches. Thank you.
hddennis
The outside diameter of the opening is 1 and 5/8 inches. Thank you.I ask because my 1917 has a 2 inch radiator neck on a honey comb core. My car is actually a light delivery or commercial chassis even though everything is the same as the standard passenger chassis. As I've never found a Maxwell cap in the 2 inch version I wonder if mine had a heavy duty radiator. You didn't mention what cap you are seeking, but right now there are 3 of the nickle plated brass M in a circle caps on eBay.Howard Dennis
