Den41Buick
I am trying to locate my grandfather's first new automobile to see if it still exists. The car was a 1928 Marmon. His drivers license had the following information on it. Motor number T6255. Fact#E2H48 or E2HR48. I am not sure if it is possible to tell from the numbers if it was a open or closed car. Any information on identifying the car would be appreciated. Thanks!<!-- google_ad_section_end -->
sambarn
The Marmon Registry does not have a car matching those numbers in its database of known Marmons, Ther is a 1928 model 68 (flathead 8) Chassi #E2HL48, engine number t-4528 that is listed as a sedan, owner unknown (sold by a member to someone). do you have any more info regarding the car - where was it? when? how do you know the engine numbers? We'd be glaqd to help if possible, let me know - sam
Den41Buick
All of the numbers I have for engine and fact were on my grandfather's drivers licenses. We have all of his drivers licences and the old ones have the type of car and engine and other information. My grandfather was from Scranton, PA and also lived in Bridgeport, CT where the car may have last been. My uncle recalls it being a sedan with black fenders and a medium blue color on the top. I now have the trunk from it. Edited August 23, 2012 by Den41Buick updated info (see edit history)
