Guest lanc36
I've got a 1936 Canopy Express (Produce Truck) and I've got a couple of questions: - Was the 1936 model only made for 6 months, as I have heard? Any idea on the # made? surviving?- I've got some bad wood and some bad bed sides. Is the Canopy Express bed the same as the pickup bed? Same Fenders? Thanks,Shawn

Buchans Bread
Not right now sorry. The frame and engine are restored. starting to work on the body.I know it is an old post, but it caught my eye. Is it a half ton or the one and one-half ton?

1935EB
The 1936 FB 1/2 ton truck line had two versions for the model year. The early offering was a high cab pick up, wood cab frame, three hinges per door. The later version was an all steel cab design with only two hinges per door. My 1935 Truck Gold Book shows that the Canopy Express has a cab roof that extends all the way to the rear of the truck providing protection for the produce, etc. This looks like a panel truck. Is this what your truck has? The other version is a 1/2 ton pick up truck with a canopy top. This truck has a bed that is essentially the same as a 1/2 ton pick up. The roof of the cab is not part of the canopy roof. Hope this helps. Chris
ShawnLancaster
Thanks this is helpful. I have the 1/2 ton pick up version. The interesting thing is that the bed is smaller than a regular pickup bed and uses panel delivery fenders and not pickup fenders. I'm thinking they were working on the best design.
