Dear Friends Several of you have asked if I would sell my 1904 Brennan four cylinder 20 HP engine SEPARATE from the rest of the project. I have decided to say yes,as I know several of you only want the motor for your own race car or speedster project. The full project is also still for sale also as of this date.Plus it is a correct replacement engine historically for any 1902-05 car. The engine is serial number 1-1904! Removed from the Brennan factory by the shop forman at the companys closure,in the 1950s. Still has paper tags on the timer! There is soot on the plugs,so it has appeared to have been run. We found an article recently of the 1905 N.Y. Auto Show, held on Jan. 15th 1905. Thus anything shown there would have to have been constructed before 1-1-05. The article said Brennan displayed several verticle motors and frames. Perhaps this is one of those display motors, due to its serial number. It is 4 inch bore and 4 inch stroke,or about 20 HP. "4x4x4" cast into the oil pan. Aircooled 4 cycle engine. Brennan sold motors for the customers individual application, including cars, boats, power plants, etc. This motor is also historically correct to power an airplane, especially because its air cooled, one year after the Wright Brothers flew the first plane! Price is $14,800 firm for the engine only. Sorry no trades. Can deliver to Hershey or ship in USA or overseas.
