Guest Mocephus
OK, so I have a small issue. On my '68 88 with a 455, the ignition coil was mounted in a bracket that was bolted to the back of the driver's side cylinder head. Unfortunately, this is extremely close to the exhaust manifold and over time, it cooked the seal inside the coil and it started leaking it's oil out. I can't imagine that this is the proper location to mount the coil. So, my question is, where is yours mounted?
Mickey McChesney
I have an unrestored 25K mile Delta 88 Holiday Coupe, 455 2V carb. The coil is mounted just aft of the carb on the RH side of the distributor. Mounting bracket is bolted to the intake manifold.Mick
Guest Mocephus
Thanks Mick, I'll take a look and see if that'll work for me. Would love to see your Delta, if you have any pics....

Oldsfan
Hey, that's a nice one! My grandmother's was Willow Gold, and was a Town Sedan, but it had that same interior. I remember it well.Paul
Guest Mocephus
Mick, that is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!! I love the 66-68 Full Size Olds "fastback" roof lines, but have never seen another on the road, or even at shows I've been to down here in FL. Here's my '68 coupe with 67k miles, which is mostly original. Sorry for the poor pictures, my digital camera is at least 10 years old.
Mickey McChesney
Love to see them side-by-side! We're driving to Louisville for the Anniversary Meet; will we see you there?Have something you might like; it's a dealer Showroom album in very good condition. It displays all the colors and fabrics for all the '68 Olds models. Neat piece of memoribila. If you're interested I'm asking $75 + shipping. rocketraider
Mickey, if Mocephus isn't interested in the C&F album, I am. Mine is missing the paint chips.
Mickey McChesney
Glenn,Full disclosure: All of the paint chips are good except the Willow Gold and Teal Frost which stuck to the previous pages. Some color lifted but most still intact.Picture attached:Mickey
