Chris Bamford
I am ordering parts this week for the complete brake overhaul on my 1947 Canadian D24. Seven cylinders, hoses, shocks, rear seals. Have looked locally, eBay and online.RockAuto in WI seems to have the best selection and lowest overall cost even factoring in freight to Canada. I am also impressed by their website and e-catalog. Our local NAPA was high price on several items, like their $382.49 master cylinder! Can anyone suggest another parts supplier to compare with RockAuto? Also, have not found a source for re-lined shoes (which can also be done locally) — any suggestions for these? Thanks. hwellens
Sleeve the master cylinder and maybe the wheel cylinders. Will be better then new and a lot cheaperApple Hydraulics: Brake and clutch
Chris Bamford
hwellens — thanks for your suggestion. I don't know if the re-sleeves are better, but they are more costly... six wheel cylinders plus the master are $675 rebuilt from Apple Hydraulics vs new replacement cylinders from RockAuto for $410. Given the vagaries of transborder shipping times both ways for rebuilt units, the new replacements will minimize jack stand time for the old girl. RockAuto it is.
