1931 8-57 steering spindle

I have a broken right front steering spindle and was wondering if any one could give suggestions? Is the spindle seperate from the knucke or attached? how in the world will I find a replacement. possible machine shop? any help I would be greatfull THanks Jay

Bob,

The 1930 50 series is a different animal from the 31 50 series. The 31 50 series was a replacement for the Marquette and rode on a 114" chassis while the 30 50 series was a larger upscale model on a 124" chassis. You may be correct, but I would be surprised if the spindles are the same. The 1930 50 and 60 series cars share many of the same chassis components though.

After reading a bit I wonder if some of the olds would cross over? Also the spindle broke right behind the nut, I did forget the kotter key so wondering if the nut backed off enough to cause enough wobble to break?
