 A number of 16 Vs that I have looked at have low oil pressure ( line mid way between zero and half way point) and high RPM (2,000) at idle.Is this normal? Also can any of you tell me what the normal oil pressure and RPM should be on a cold 16 V engine? Is low ?? oil pressure and high RPM(2000) an indication of somethimg to be concerned about. Also what is best way to determine problems with a turbo. Still looking:confused:.e-mail - stonebridge711@verizon.net

Marvin,

To answer your question, the 16V engine should have 4 PSI at idle and 25 PSI at 3000 RPM. The high RPM pressure could be as high as 80 PSI. Normal operating temperatures.

Like Mazing said, it is better to check with a more accurate oil filled guage.
