rkiddo
Am having difficulty installing the upper section of a rear main seal. I've installed these seals in the past and have never encountered this problem. Tried using the Chinese finger type but to no avail, also tried a Sneaky Peat and broke it on the first try. I'm sure I have the correct seal as it measures the same dimensions as the one I removed. Any suggestions.
F&J
Are you slowly turning the crankshaft as you try to pull it slowly?Although I never had to, some say that difficult ones need the crank cap bolts loosened so the crank will drop a little. Guest trainguy
As F&J suggested loosen all the main about 1/8"soak your new seal in oil overnight, rotate your CS while pulling on your instalation tool,it should pull around the CS.After installation pack as much of the seal into the space before torqing the main caps, trim excess and put a dab of blue goo on the end of seal.Don't forget the cork inserts which seal the space between the cop and the block.Phil
