Guest jchagop
I am having trouble removing my brake booster. The master cylinder is off, and on the interior I have revoved the four nuts and small pin. The interior loop attachment where the booster meets the brake pedal is stuck on there and I cant get it off. With a screwdriver I managed to move it laterally about a quarter of an inch, but it still has about half and inch to go and wont budge. What am I doing wrong?Jon
Bill Stoneberg
I had the best luck with mine when I had a person under the hood helping and moving the booster. It took a while but we finally got it off. Going on was just as fun, I was so frustrated, I wanted to bend things. It eventually slid on.
Guest jchagop
Thanks Bill,I finally got it off. I was tempted to bust out a hacksaw but with plenty of jiggles it eventually slid off. Cant wait to put it back on. What is your take on Dot 5 vs. Dot 3 brake fluid. I think I will eventually upgrade to disc brakes, so maybe should wait to do the conversion then?Jon
Bill Stoneberg
I left it as Dot 3. Works fine and have no issue stopping.Glad you were able to get it off.
