Guest rusty1951
I was planning on lifting my 248 into my truck so I can go to the paint shop. It is a long block (completely together). I was going to use two head bolts since they are 7/16 size. Will this screw up by head gasket as I have torqued the head down in squence. I had wanted to have the valve cover on for transport, less likely to get dirt in the engine.
Guest simplyconnected
Rusty, here's how we do it in the Mustang factory: See the steel plate that attaches to the aluminum head on both sides? You can make one too. Notice, the whole intake is attached, as well as the automatic transmission. In production, they use an air hoist. When they are done with the lift, they remove the steel plate. It's important you get the bolts tight before you lift.Hope this helps. - Dave
