On my 1936 Series 40 McLaughlin:

Top chrome and steel measures 51" from the grill to the cowl.

Under the hood, 39" for the flange area that attaches to the hood with 1" on either side that looks to be part of the hinge but is only wide enough to be part of the assembly. I guess that puts the hings at about 41".

Thank Jeff. To clarify I am looking for the length of the Chrome piece which runs between the hoof leaf and slides over the piece riveted to each hood. As you mention it runs from the cowl to the nose (back of hood ornament).

So 51" for series 40

Can anybody help with Series 60 and 80/90?

Thanks.

Hi Brian,

From the end of the hood ornament to the point the sits on the cowl on my Series 40 it is 44.5". The point that sits on the cowl itself looks to be 7/8". The 51" measurement included the hood ornament (sorry about that).
