Guest Tom Timmins
What V-8 engine options did Ford have in 1955 cars? Were they all Y block? Is there an easy way to distinguish one from another? Thanks!
imported_Bob Hill
I am pretty sure for passenger cars, the only V-8s offered were the 272 and the 292 - both Y Block engines
RocketDude
The first Ford OHV was in '54, and it was 239CI, same as the flathead it replaced. Those early years were all Y-blocks...http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/wiki/How_to_identify_a_Ford_V8
