Bill Reichert Posted June 9, 2008 Share Posted June 9, 2008 For those of your that remember, several years ago my $1895 TC was taxed at $7,000 by the St. Louis County tax assessor. Well Friday afternoon I got a cryptic letter from the said office. The way it was worded, I guessed I was getting ripped again. I just got an email from them that they are nice people and they were just TRYING to let me know that my TC was depreciated again this year. Whew.Oh I should mention that my Real Property tax was misappraised last year at 350% over the actual value. I guess my new daily prayer is working. "Dear Lord, please protect me from the incomptence of others."Everyone in Mo. should check their personal property assessment in JUNE! They do not notify you of changes until Dec when it is due. 89TC-16V Posted June 9, 2008 Share Posted June 9, 2008 how nice, i had a similar issue with a GMC syclone valued at 11,500$ low book value and the state demanding i pay tax on that value instead of the 500$ i said i paid for it. well i got a letter from the seller and he signed an affadavit for the value and they went away. screw the state Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
